A bit about Agrément South Africa:
Agrement is a public works entity and is tasked with managing the South African Eco-labeling system as a government recognized system for building materials products. We recently received this award from Agrément, commending the Luxwood Building System. This award provides us with permission to build with The Luxwood Building System in South Africa.
"Agrément certification provides reassurance of the fitness-for-purpose of a product through an objective assessment by an independent organization with more than 30 years experience of evaluating non-standardised building and construction products. Agrément certificates can be used to demonstrate compliance with regulations, as specified in the certificate.
Certificates facilitate acceptance and/or approval by: designers and specifiers, regulatory authorities ,mortgage lenders and financial institutions ,community-support organisations.
Certification supports a certificate holder’s confidence in the technical merits of his product. Certificates are technical documents that: contain authoritative assessments of product or system performance; give the uses for which the product or system has been assessed to be fit; summarise the levels of performance that may be expected; list the precautions that must be taken when using the product or system if the assessed performance is to be attained.
Agrément South Africa’s identification symbol appears on products covered by a certificate. Agrément South Africa’s Directory of current certificates is widely distributed to building professionals, local authorities and others. Copies of all certificates are readily available through the Agrément web site. Products with export potential may benefit from certification.
Agrément South Africa is a founder member of the World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations.
Agrément certificates are only granted to applicants who have implemented an approved quality system. Additional information that may be revealed during the assessment programme may lead to further product development."
